This week was a little odd as we worked to adjust to our new weekly schedule. While the boys very much enjoyed their band and Co-op classes, we all felt a little lost this week trying to make our brains wrap around having a regular school day (Mon), then a day down south taking classes (Tues), then back into the swing of regular school days. It was almost like having two Mondays in the week, which just felt peculiar. It wasn't
too bad, though. :) We accomplished three days of regular schoolwork, one day of band/Co-op, and tomorrow we are headed to the fair. All in all, a pretty good week. :)

| Just because she's cute. :) |
| Fun with K'NEX. |
| I introduced Taz to bread and butter with sugar sprinkled on top. She called it "secret ingredient bread." (Thank you, Cailou, for that one. :) ) |
| Crawdad learned about African lungfish today and make an entry in his science notebook about them. |
To the right, we have map work and pizza. :) Cub was mapping out the battles of Attila the Hun. He also wrote the rough draft of a research paper on rabbits (below). I must say, we definitely followed some bunny trails as he researched that one---bunnies are sooo cute! (Yes, pun intended. :P)
| Taz LOVES her Explode the Code primer books. I'm actually really impressed with how quickly she picked up on what to do on these pages. I have to watch her, though. She likes the "find the difference" pages best, and she'll flip through the book to find and do them all if I'm not paying attention. :) |

Crawdad made an Indian Sand Painting as his history project in Bigger this week. He mixed salt and food coloring in ziplocks, and then sprinkled it on glue-brushed cardstock to make a pattern.
| Cub, of course, wanted to help mix up the colored "sand." :) |
| Crawdad's finished Indian Sand Painting. |
Taz is still in love with chalk this week, and has gone through half a package of construction paper drawing people, monsters (M said monster in her ETC book), rainbows, mice, dogs, the alphabet, her name, my name (Mama), her brother's name (Bubba), Daddy, and just tonight, a beaver. (Crawdad doesn't have a repetitive name, so she hasn't tackled his yet. :P)
| Timed math drill. |
| The homework in Cub's art class this week (Co-op) was to do black and white sketches of common household objects. This is his computer mouse. The cute little figure at the top is a sculpture he made out of his charcoal pencil eraser. Um, well, art class IS supposed to be creative, right? Giggle. |
| Working diligently on his scroll for RTR. |
| The finished scroll. It's Greek to me! :) |
| Cub ended the week with nice grade on his science quiz (92). |
What an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteCub's a leftie? I hear lefties have a wonderful creative streak. No wonder his art is so impressive. ;-)
Taz and Crawdad did great jobs this week too!
