This week Cub also:
*Finished Boyhood and Beyond, completed 2 lessons in CLE Bible, and continued his study of Levitucus
*Completed pages 1D-1F of MUS Zeta and made a 90% on the Lesson 1 Test
*Made us all cookies as part of his 3 days of HOD history with extensions
*Read about the history of medicine in HOD science, completed book 2 of 5 in PAC science and made a 103 on the quiz (as they aren't Bible verses, we use PAC's little "life sayings" as extra credit)
*Worked for 2 days on his personal narrative, then spent Wed and part of Thur helping me get ready for a work function Papa Bear was having at our house (the recent storms did a serious number on our yard. Think 900lbs of wet leaves....), so he will finish the narrative up next week. He also reviewed diagramming prepositions, continued reading The Best of Father Brown for Lit, and read half of "As You Like It."
*Learned about Red Herrings, Special Pleadings, and Ad Hominem attacks in logic
*Practiced animal names in Spanish, read a poem by Emily Dickinson that we all decided should be titled "Insomnia," :P passed his Trek verses, worked on "Ode to Joy" on his sax, suffered through naked cherubim in art appreciation, and went to 2 boxing classes and 3 Karate classes
RTR Unit 9 finished notebook pages
This week Crawdad:
Crawdad trimming his grass guy's "hair."
*Read 4 days in his Day by Day Children's Bible and listened to me read from Egermeier's Story Bible 3 times
*Finished charts and started angles in Sinapore and completed 1C-1E in MUS Epsilon
*Did 3 days of HOD history and science and read about sea otters and giant pandas in his nature reader
*Completed 3 days of GWG, 4 days of SWS, 3 days of HWT, 4 days of phonics, and read 4 days in his Robinson Crusoe reader
*Sat in on his brother's logic, passed his AWANA verses, practiced "Jingle Bells" on the french horn, worked on his next form for Karate, illustrated one of Emily Dickinson's untitled poems, and listened to me finish The Tarantula in My Purse
We talked this week about not making such tiny drawings and filling all that white space more.
Can you say "distraction?"
Taz worked on "what belongs together" (and did extremely well!), practiced scissors skills, did the SL LA K lesson on R's, worked in her Singapore Earlybird math book, listened to me read stories, and was very into her R&S workbooks.
I don't remember what Cub was studying (right), but he seems terribly excited about it, doesn't he? LOL. Below, Crawdad has fun matching patterns with the Pixy Cubes.
She said she was climbing up on the counter to be closer to the heater vent because she was cold. I suspect she had a different reason entirely....... :P
All tired out from all that schoolin'. :P
Shaunna, I don't think I've ever seen such through week in reviews as yours! Love the pictures and the explanations. We must be just a head of you in HOD RTR because I remember Dustin doing those same drawings! I called him over and he had fun looking and reading through your post too! I think it's so much for for homeschooled kids to see others doing the same things they do :).
ReplyDeleteHope you have a blessed week!
In Him,
Christy
