This past weekend, we took a drive out to Joshua Tree National Park. It was definitely interesting, as the whole area is really just rocks, desert, and well, Joshua Trees. :P The signs swear the area is "teeming with live," but as it was 46 out, all the "life" must have been tucked away somewhere warm. All we saw were some quail, spider webs, and what looked like rat poo. We did have a great time scurrying around the giant piles of rocks, though. The kids and I even decided we should pack a lunch and head back over in the spring (when it isn't 46 out) so we could climb up one of those cool rock piles to have a picnic. The landscape was fascinating, in that it was unlike anything we'd seen before. We did all agree, though. We are more beach bums, river rats, and mountain men than we are desert folks. :)

| Taz complaining at the bottom because she couldn't climb up there with her boys. |

| Climbing up a different section. |
| I like this one. :) Even though he is closer to the edge than he looks, and it was quite a ways down, so it did make me a teensy bit nervous. Crawdad, at least, didn't lounge near the edge! :P |

| This is the above pic without the zoom. See that spec on the top of that rock at the top? That's Cub perched up there. |

| Papa Bear helping Taz scurry a bit. :) |
| Joshua Trees are cool. |
| Just a neat looking formation. |
| I climbed a bit with them. Cub took this from a rock below me. |
| Crawdad, Lightning (the stuffed guy in the middle), and me. :) |
