Proverbs 1:8

Listen, my son, to your father's instruction.......

Cub:

*To hunt
*To play LoL
*Climb down the tree, don't jump
*How to build models
*Education is important
*Dad cannot be trusted when dealing with new foods
*Do the job right the first time so you don't have to do it over
*To shoot
*Handle a knife with care
*Never bet more than you can lose
*How to build Legos
*Support yourself
*How to build a chicken coop
*Help a friend
*How to put up a tent
*Work hard
*Read the directions (because Dad DIDN'T :P)

Crawdad:

*Close the DS and you'll have a better time
*How to play LoL
*It's more fun with the top down
*Obey Mama

And do not forsake your mother's teaching........

Cub:

*Don't bite your nails
*Trust Mom, not Dad, with new food
*Science
*How to cook
*Don't eat too much
*Don't lick the dog
*Don't play with your food
*Math is necessary
*About God and Jesus
*How to color
*Be happy
*Don't sing everything you hear on Shrek
*How to spell
*Life's an adventure
*Don't be negative
*Education is important
*If you find it on the ground, don't eat it
*Books are fun
*How hard can it be?

Crawdad:

*Math
*Reading
*How to make a sandwich
*How to play board games
*The Gospel

I was curious why there were no character traits on the lists, so I asked Cub about it. He said that good character has always just been expected, as long as he can remember, so he really didn't think of it as "taught" anymore. I can live with that. :)

Lord, thank You for these precious gifts. Please help us be the parents You would have us be.

  2. "Don't lick the dog" was from when he was about 5. The dog licked him, so he licked it back. :P Remind me to tell you the story behind, "Don't sing everything you hear on Shrek."

  3. My younger girls are doing that same Notgrass Bible/art, so it's fun to compare drawings! :-)

    Good job, boys!
