The Usual

This week has been pretty normal so far. Today, we went to band and Co-op. The boys got the music for their concert on Dec 8th. I'm sure they'll play it all for the grandparents on our upcoming road trip. :) Taz is learning about obedience this week, as well as a simplified version of the Thanksgiving story. She really loves having things up on her bulletin board. It really helps her focus. We are memorizing "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right." She has "God created the heavens and the earf" down! Time to move on. :) We are also memorizing "Hey, Diddle Diddle," although I'm not entirely certain why we teach nursery rhymes to children. They really make no sense to me at all.....

She's like a cat (right). She seems to think if she lays on his schoolwork, he will be forced to stop working and play with her. In fairness to her, sometimes it works. :P Below, just regular old independent work.

This week, the boys and I are focusing on Proverbs 1:7-9 in Draw to Learn Proverbs. Here are their pictures of "beginnings" because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

Floor puzzles are fun! This week she is really enjoying putting together giant 12 piece floor puzzles. Below, she is coloring what she is absolutely, positively, 100% certain is a chicken. She will NOT be persuaded otherwise. She's also pretty annoyed that they keep putting a big "T" on all of her chickens, since "chicken" obviously does not start with a "T." Stubborn much, kid? Gee, wonder where she gets that? Giggle.

Grammar and punctuation? A little young yet, Taz. :)

Crawdad's drawing of Ben Franklin's lightning rod experiment as performed by a Frenchman whose name escapes me, and I'm too lazy to get up and go get the book. :P

Sunday afternoon Risk :)
