| Studying for a science quiz. He made 103! Go, Cub! :) |
You'd think we'd moved from WA to the Arctic instead of sunny California the way my children have been bundling themselves up lately. :P I mean, yes, we did get a cool front through that dropped us into the 50's, but it was
twelve where we were last winter. We called anything above 60 SUMMER. I suppose this means they've acclimated, which is a good thing--otherwise they'd bake in summer here. (And I have to admit that I made the comment to Papa Bear that I was freezing the other day, so it isn't just them. Shhh. Don't tell the kids! I'll lose my teasing rights. :P)

Above, Taz does one of her favorite things: color by number. She absolutely loves these pages. Below, she practices 7's in her Singapore book.
Crawdad is learning about similes and metaphors this week. He could not, of course, simply do the workbook page. It
needed to have planes in combat doodled all over it. What that has to do with the lesson exactly, I have no idea. But I'm taking the fact that he got everything on the page correct and running with it. :) Below, he practices fractions in his new MUS Epsilon book. He is finding this a fun addition to his Singapore workbook.

| This one was a little challenging at first. She had to find the hidden objects and then color them in. She had some trouble making the connection between the colored object at the top in the list of things to find and the outline of the object in the black and white portion of the picture below. She did get it though, and then enjoyed coloring the found object to match the list object. |
Cub's history project this week had him making cookies for us to eat while he narrated "The Poem of The Cid" (which is a 3700 line poem that Cub was extremely thankful he only had to read a portion of :P). The cookies were yummy, if a tad dry. He chose to color his cookies red, blue, and......can you guess his third color.....
 |
| OK, perhaps he used a touch too much food coloring in the green batch. :P |
