Apparently, my children have already forgotten the 3 feet of snow and 12 degree temps of last winter in WA, because looking around my house today, you'd have thought we were at the North Pole. It was 57 and raining. Goofy kids. :P

| Seriously, guys, it's not THAT cold! |
 |
| Really, it's not. |
Taz was in a paper craft mood today. Armed with her Abeka K4 Art project book, safety scissors, and a glue stick, she kept very busy making a bear, a lion, a pig, a mouse, baby Moses in the river, and Jesus helping the fishermen.
Crawdad made a chart for science in Bigger about folk remedies in the 1600's (above). Some worked (like chewing willow bark for headaches--who knew?), and some didn't (think leeches *shudder). We also read that William Penn played jumping games with the Indians in Pennsylvania. I'm betting they were better at it than we were. But then, the kids pointed out they probably didn't have hardwood floors and fuzzy, slippery pj's to contend with either. :P
Cub was supposed to read half of Winter's Tale today, but he actually enjoyed it so much that he just finished the whole play, and then did his Shakespeare notebooking page for it.

| Looking up vocab words for CLE reading. He looks thrilled about it too, doesn't he? :P |
 |
| He loves reading history. Maybe he's just having a serious face sort of day. ) |

| Cub finished his RTR Unit 5 notebook pages today. |

| You are never too old for a Cookie Monster break. :) |
Definitely never too old for Cookie Monster...or just cookies for that matter. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy kids have been cold, too, and we are actually having 'Indian Summer" It's been in the upper 60's - and I love it. It could stay like this all year!
Those HOD notebooking pages are AWESOME!
