Diagramming

Diagramming sentences has never been a favored activity at our house. I'm a little bummed about that, I have to admit, because I loved diagramming sentences as a kid. Yeah, I know. Does it really get much nerdier than that? :P

 Cub said this assignment (right) was not sentence diagramming. It was paragraph diagramming. A little melodramatic, dontcha think? :P

Crawdad decided to make the whole experience more enjoyable by spicing it up a bit. This is the same kid who drew the Pac Man math answer. I sense a creative career choice in his future. :)

Crawdad was attempting to write his spelling words until Taz crawled up beside him with a bucketful of colorful animal counters. I guess if he bombs his spelling test this week, we can blame those trouble making rainbow bunnies again. :P

Above, Cub tries to narrate the rise of the feudal system before the 3 min timer goes off. I should have videoed it. :P Right, he works on his Much Ado About Nothing notebook page while listening to Diana Waring talk about Feudalism, Religion, and the Holy Roman Empire. Crawdad played some Jumpstart while he ate his lunch.

 Taz practiced following spoken directions in her ETC primers today and worked on the proper formation of 2's in her Singapore book. We also talked about senses in Pathways. She had a little bit of trouble distinguishing between her hands making the sound (clapping) and her ears hearing the sound, but she'll get there. It's a process. :)

Cub working on this week's history project:  a card game about the feudal system.

We made Rice Krispy treats this afternoon after school. We tried to be creative and use cookie cutters to cut them into Halloween shapes, but they were too gooey and fell apart. Oh well, we decided they were just as good in blob form as they were in cat/ghost/pumpkin form. Blobs are Halloweeny, right? Giggle.
