So, without further ado, this week Mr. Awesome (giggle):
*Read 4 days of independent Bible study (David is about to die, he says) and 2 lessons in Practical Happiness
*Completed 3 days of MUS Pre-Algebra and took a quiz. He made a 90 again this week, which thrilled us both!
*Finished The Kings Fifth as part of history, along with 4 days of RTR plus extensions, reading bits of In Praise of Folly, learning about the rulers of Florence, and reviewing Martin Luther
*Learned about the nervous system in his Forensics study and decided he's really ready to get off of body systems and on to the actual forensic part of the study. :P He also reviewed electricity in Co-op physical science.
*Completed 4 days of CLE grammar, 2 lessons of CLE Literature, took a Literature quiz (and made a 94 :)), and read Shakespeare's All's Well that Ends Well
*Studied Proverbs and vocab with the family, learned "nauta" means "sailor" in Latin, completed 1 lesson in Logic, passed his Trek verses, played his Sax, worked out in Karate and boxing, practiced with the Long Stick in Karate Weapons class, and endured an attack of playfulness by his younger siblings (below :P)

Her cuddlies are having a race, complete with spectators. :) That yellow dish towel also served as a boat and a bed for her stuffed, furry critters this week.
This week Crawdad:
*Read in his Day by Day Bible 4 times and listened to Mama read 2 stories to him
*Completed Horizons math lessons 4-7 and one lesson in MUS Epsilon on fractions
*Did 3 days of HOD Bigger
*Read about beetles in his nature reader, read some more in his John Audobon biography (are we ever going to be done with that one??), learned about the parts of an egg and their functions, and studied light waves and the visible light spectrum in his Co-op science class
*Completed 3 lessons in his BJU reader with worksheets, 2 steps in All About Spelling, and finished lesson 3 in LLATL and took the assessment (we still need to work on parts of speech names)
*Copied and illustrated Washington and his Hatchet, did logic and vocab and the Proverbs study with the family, used the Latin word "nauta" at every conceivable opportunity :P, played his French Horn, practiced tons for his Weapons class, and passed his AWANA verses

| Timeline work--we had to add another poster board to our timeline. Apparently, a lot happened in the 1700 column in American History. :P |
| Well, that's one way to read your history assignment. :) |
For Crawdad's egg study, we cracked one open and matched it's parts to the diagram. Then he labeled his own and did a vocab worksheet. He thought the activity was pretty cool, if a little slimy. :)
This week Taz finished week 2 of SL PreK, did some Abeka worksheets, learned to count to 30, and memorized the verse, "Jesus said, I am with you always" taken from Matt. 28:30. She loves to cut things out, so after she colored her little Indian girl head (Abeka PreK--I is for Indian), she cut it out. But then she decided that the poor little Indian really needed a body, so she drew one herself and cut it out. I was pretty impressed that she got the scale of the body pretty close to perfect for the head. I was also fairly amused that she gave the little girl a giraffe with an umbrella for a pet. That's my creative girl. :)

That sounds like a great week - and I think ALL of your kiddos did awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am the same as you - body first, then intro....and finally the conclusion.
Well, Michelle....at least we have the conclusion in the right sequence. Giggle :P
