Our weeks have been full since vacation with new therapists, ortho appointments, dentist appointments, and getting school done. As we near the end of our year, our weeks become less about "4 grammar lesson, 4 science lessons, etc" and more about wrapping up what's left of our various subjects so we can get on with the business of summer. :) We're getting close, too. Only 6 more weeks. Some things will be done before then (grammar, vocab, spelling), some right on time (history, science), and some will carry through the summer (math, Bible, reading). This week was pretty typical. Everyone worked diligently, and everything got done, even if some of it had to be completed in the truck (Cub does science above). OK, so maybe playing Angry Birds (Taz below) isn't exactly school, but it sure made her giggle. :)

Right, Crawdad and his headgear work on grammar. I'm pretty sure he dislikes the grammar more than the headgear. :P
Below, Taz and Crawdad do math side by side. The only problem with this arrangement is that Crawdad's math takes him twice as long this way because he likes to stop and watch his sister work. "She's just so cute!" he says. :)

Taz loves this nifty tool set. Her OT was using one with her week before last, and she loved it, so we picked one up (I do love Amazon. :)). Apparently, this action (like coloring, I discovered--no wonder she loves it so much) helps her channel/focus proprioceptive feedback (has to do with sensory input and movement and her body in space). Hey, if it works for her, it works for me. :)

I'm not entirely certain that when Charlotte Mason wrote about "masterly inactivity" that is was what she had in mind. :P
