Merry Christmas

We had a very blessed Christmas. :)
We started by making a Happy Birthday Jesus cake on Christmas Eve.

Then Daddy read the Christmas story from the Bible.

And everyone got to open one gift.

Crawdad opened a Transformer that Cub had picked out for him.

Taz opened a jewelry making kit.

And Cub opened......shoes. He was very happy about the shoes, but he did think that perhaps he got the short end of the early present stick. :P

Taz spent the rest of the evening making necklaces.

Christmas morning found the children waiting in what I must say was pretty patient anticipation for the presents under the tree. Especially since we made the boys wait 45 minutes for Taz to wake up on her own instead of letting them wake her.  But finally, everyone was ready.....

Well, OK, maybe saying Papa Bear was ready is a bit of an overstatement. Giggle.

She was thrilled I took this picture, really. :P

It's looking a little like Christmas threw up in our living room here.

His favorite picture book character. They came out with a new book, so even though he's into chapter books now,  I couldn't resist getting him the new one. And they make a puppet, too!! He thought that was way cool. :)

Silly boys. :)

This is how Crawdad and his aunt spent Christmas afternoon. She brought him a new game, and they played together. They were awfully cute staring so intently at their little miners on the screen. :)

Papa Bear assembled Taz's new doll house. And then he played with her. And I have to say, there is nothing quite so heartwarming as a daddy playing dolls with his baby girl. :)

Cub spent the afternoon assembling Lego items, but he likes to show them off after they've been built, so there aren't pics of those yet. I should have taken a picture of us all dressed Christmas-y  for church this morning, but I didn't think of it until we had come back home and shed the church clothes. :P All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas full of family, traditions, and love. Tomorrow, Taz, my sis, and I are going to brave a few after Christmas sales. The kids and I are really looking forward to Papa Bear having the rest of the week off. Although......he says he wants to clean the garage.......I have a feeling the boys and I will spend the week plotting ways to distract him from that! :P

we used to do birthday cake for Jesus, too, but with K's birthday being on the 24th, it's just too much cake! - (I can't believe i just said those words LOL.)
