When she broke out the K'NEX Creatures, Crawdad of course couldn't resist building with her. :)

| Crazy cat hat because reading history didn't seem nearly as picture worthy as Kid K'NEX. :P |
There has been bookwork involved in our days, as well.
Sometimes, with a little furry help.
Crawdad learned about warm and cool colors this week. He had an assignment to paint a rainbow (which somehow morphed into painting a sunset, but hey, he understood the concept, so I'm good with that), and there was no way we could break out the watercolors for him and not have everyone join in. Taz was enthralled with the way the water made the colors run, and Cub enjoyed setting aside his science reading for a little art time.

Left is my attempt to apply mathematical concepts to real life. We made cookie dough for a treat today (with milk instead of eggs so we can eat it in dough form without pesky issues like salmonella), but we didn't need to make an entire batch. Crawdad and I divided the 3/4 cups of flour needed for a full batch in half. We came up with between 1/4 and 1/3 of a cup, which worked out just fine. Cub, who absolutely loathes math, watched us from the sidelines, and then wrote an equation which he said made just as much sense to him. It reads "2 times tic tac toe plus fish divided by chicken equals cookie dough." Goofball. :P

Looks like a good week.
ReplyDeleteMy kids LOVE those K-nex creatures!(They use the body parts with playdoh, too.)
I love the 'furry help'. We mostly have furry hindrance here...very little help. :P
