Hello, 40 :)

You know, 40's seeming a lot younger than it used to. :P Somehow, when I envisioned being 40, I always thought I'd be......older. And while I'm working on wiser (hey, I did say working), and I've definitely gotten rounder, I'm really not feeling much in the way of older.

I think maybe it's these guys. They keep me young (having chocolate cake for breakfast on occasion doesn't hurt either.....although, that likely contributes to that "rounder" thing I mentioned earlier :P).

My mom gave me this little plaque many years ago that still sits on my kitchen window sill.

My cup is definitely overflowing. I thank my God for "a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over."

Isaiah 46:4 says, "Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He. I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." And while my hair is currently only just the teeniest bit gray, I know He will sustain me now and for always.

  1. What a beautiful cake!
I love that poem from your mom too!
Happy 40th (and I've got a year and a half on you, so you seem like a 'spring chicken' to me) ;-)

  2. You are just now 40? No wonder your school is more fun than mine! I've got almost 10 years on you! 40 seems very young to me.
