Week in Review

Another week, some more school stuff to post about. :P I didn't grab the camera nearly as much this week as I usually do, although I'm not sure why, and we had a slightly shorter week than usual because Cub left for a youth retreat early Thursday afternoon. Being the fully awesome Mama that I am (Crawdad's words :)), and in the interest of fairness, I let Crawdad have Thursday afternoon and Friday off from school too, even though he had no retreat bussing him to snowboarding.

This week Cub:

*Completed 4 days of SL Bible and history

*Survived 2 algebra lessons, a quiz review, and the actual quiz (80%). There were times survival seemed sketchy, but the grace of God and a good dose of chocolate pulled us through. :)

*Did 3 Chemistry lessons and took a quiz (100%) and read twice in his archeology reader

*Started Pilgrim's Progress, worked on strong "ly" sentence openers in writing, and did 3 grammar lessons

*Attended Karate and piano, completed 3 Latin lessons (and took the quiz on Latin "to be" verbs 3 times--I was determined he could and would make 100%--mean ol' Mama :P), passed his Trek verses, listened in on Who am I?  and Rascal with his brother, plopped down on the foot of the bed every night to hear More Stories from Grandma's Attic (a family favorite), and headed off to snowboard with the youth. I hope he's having a fabulous time. :)

 This week Crawdad:

*Read his Bible 5 days and did Who am I? with me and his brother twice

*Completed 4 pre-algebra sheets, took a quiz (100%), and played around with the Time4learning math section

*Finished 4 days of HOD history

*Learned what happens during and after it rains in the dessert with HOD's science

*Read 4 days in BJU reading, completed 3 grammar lessons, and proved to me during a Scribblenauts session that we need to revamp spelling

*Attended Karate and piano, enjoyed Rascal and More Stories from Grandma's Attic, got stuck memorizing the books of the Bible in AWANA (we're working on it), and has talked incessantly since his brother got on the bus yesterday. My ears are very tired. :P (But my heart is full--he's such a sweet boy. :))

Awww....Splatter dozing with Cub on the couch...

....until.....done dozing! Time to get UP! :P

This week Taz spent hours on Starfall.com (right). We also did PAL phonics, several days of math, LHFHG, and reactivated her Time4learning account. She really does love to learn on the computer, and it's a useful way to keep her occupied while I work with the boys. She also read the story of the Exodus through the giving of the 10 Commandments in her Beginning Readers Bible. She noticed the references at the top of the stories and asked me about them, so we had a lesson in chapter and verses in the Bible. She was delighted to discover that when we looked up the "address" of the 10 Commandments in Mama's Bible that they matched the 10 Commandments I had written on the white board. :)

Practicing scissors skills

Getting caught up sticking stickers in our PAL phonics book. We keep forgetting that step.

I put down the book I had been reading to them to find him looking at me. He was obviously very interested in the story. :P
