First, we ate. :P
Then we did a gross motor activity using Let's Get Moving! activity mats. I tossed down several mats and played music. She followed the directions on the mat as long as the music was playing, and when the music stopped, she moved to another mat. I suspect that there will be boys in our morning gross motor time come next week. :P
| Math. She's about halfway through the Abeka K math book. I'm not quite sure where to go after that. Abeka first grade? Horizons? Hmmm...... |

Above is a very silly Taz sitting in front of her picture schedule. The idea is that each of her activities during the school day is listed in picture form, and when she completes one, she puts a sticker beside it. This method, along with a timer, gave our day a nice, smooth flow. Hopefully, that flow will continue into next week when we start adding the boys to our school days. After making the schedule, I decided its one drawback was that I should have had Papa Bear make it. I am soooo not the artist in the family. :P
| Taz learns houses have addresses. We spent 20 minutes walking up and down the road finding everyone's house number. She was fascinated. :) |
We wrapped up our day with some audio therapy. Then we went and picked the boys up from camp. We also had a Bible lesson on Samuel and read a book on trees, but she was in my lap for those, so I didn't get pics. :) I am delighted with and thankful for our most pleasant and productive first day. Think it's too much to hope that all the rest of her school days will go as well? :P
What a wonderful first day! I love the idea of a gross motor time. I think that would be a success with all of my boys. :)
ReplyDeleteOh - I don't know how I missed this post earlier?!!
